HP OMNIBOOK 300, 425, AND 430 - INFRARED TRANSFER WITH THE HP 95LX

PALMTOP USING MS WINDOWS TERMINAL

  ISSUE:HP OmniBook 300, 425, and 430 - infrared transfer with

the HP 95LX Palmtop using MS Windows Terminal

SOLUTION:The HP 95LX Palmtop is capable of transferring data in

the following formats:XMODEM and Kermit. To transfer

data between the HP OmniBook 300, 425, or 430 and the

HP 95LX Palmtop, the HP OmniBook 300, 425, or 430 must

be capable of transmitting data in at least one of

these formats. The following is an outline of the

steps needed to transfer files between the HP OmniBook

300, 425, or 430 and the HP 95LX Palmtop using the

              infrared interface.

To proceed, you will need to download the MS Terminal

accessory files TERMINAL.EXE and TERMINAL.HLP to your

HP OmniBook 300, 425, or 430 (see application note HP

              OmniBook 300/425 Downloading Windows Terminal).

Terminal is capable of transmitting data in either

              Kermit or XMODEM formats.

The subsequent procedure assumes a session of LapLink

Remote is not currently active on the HP OmniBook 300,

425, or 430. These steps need to be completed on both

the HP OmniBook 300, 425, or 430 and the HP 95LX

Palmtop. Either the HP OmniBook 300, 425, or 430 or

the HP 95LX Palmtop can be configured first as long as

Step One is entirely complete before proceeding to Step

Two. In this procedure, XMODEM is used as an example

protocol; however, Kermit may be chosen instead, if

              desired.
